By the totals of the tender for purchasing new engines for Azerbaijan State Railroad (ASR), the contract has been concluded for purchasing five engines from Tbilisi Engine-Building Factory (TEBF).
Trends special correspondent reports referring to the factorys release, one VL-10 series engine and four VL-11 series engines will be delivered to Azerbaijan. Further, annual upgrade of engine stock is planned alongside the overhaul of engines in quantity of 15-20 units.
Tbilisi Engine-Building Factory, currently Elektrovozostroitel AO, is the main manufacturer of DC engines in former USSR. 51% stock in AO was purchased by DEMA COMPUTERS LIMITED at $4.15mln in January 2005.
DEMA COMPUTERS LIMITED is stage-by-stage upgrading Elektrovozostroitel AO, replacing machines and other equipment and implementing investment program. DEMA COMPUTERS LIMITED has worked in trains market since 1995. It supplies spares and components for engine-building factories, DC cargo trains, as well as sale of engines in Russian and CIS markets.
