(autoinsidernews) - Earlier this week, we reported that Audi was considering dropping a production version of the R10s Le Mans-winning diesel engine into its A8 sedan. According to the German newspaper, Heilbronner Stimme, it is going to happen sooner than expected and start with a different vehicle. The report states that the production engine will be a 6.0L V12 developing 500-hp and 1000 Nm of torque and it will go into the Q7 and A8. The Audi engine is the by far the most powerful TDI engine in the VW family, with significantly more power that the V10 TDI in the Volkswagen Touareg, with was impressive as well, reports Trend.
The Audi Q7 V12 6.0 TDI will arrive in 2008, with the next-generation A8 sedan getting the engine in 2010.
