The increase in the prices on carrying oil and refined products via the Azerbaijani railways on $1 per ton starting from September 2006 has not brought to the increasing of the rate itself, since its basic value has remained unchanged. The Azerbaijani State Railway Company has carried 5o percent of the whole oil and refined products using different privileges. A part of these privileges has been cancelled. And that has brought to the rate`s changing, Arif Asgarov told during the celebration of The Day of Railwayman, Trend reports.
According to him, the State Railway Company has reduced the percentage of privileges on carrying oil loads via the territory of Azerbaijan. Therefore, privileges on the sum equal to approximately $1 per ton of oil and refined products have been lifted. These privileges were used only for carrying via the transport corridor TRASECA, he told.
The rate on carrying 1 ton of oil was estimated at $5 per ton prior to the increase. The corresponding increase put into force during carrying refined products, which rate was about $6 per ton.
At the same time, according to the representatives of the State Railway Company, the rate on carrying oil and refined products via the territory of Azerbaijan is one of the lowest ones.
