Azerbaijan Participating in Conference on Increasing Role of Civil Labour Migration in Development of Economy of Russia and FSU Countries

A delegation of the Azerbaijan Labour & Population Social Protection headed by its Minister, Fuzuli Alakbarov, is participating in the International Conference Increasing the Role of Civilized Labour Migration in the Development of the Economies of Russia and FSU Countries: Formation of Efficient Migration Infrastructure, a source at the Ministry informed Trend. The event has begun work in Moscow today and will be completed by tomorrow 12 December.

The International Conference is held by International Association Labor Migration.

Representatives of the Legislative and Executive Power of Russia and CIS countries, representatives of the local bureaus of the International Labour Organization and the International Migration Organization in Moscow and Russian Federation, as well as representatives of other international and public organizations, scientific institutions, and entrepreneurs will take part in the work of the forthcoming conference.

Issues on the standard and legal regulations of labour migration processes on the territory of CIS countries, formation of the migration infrastructure and the development of mechanisms of the private and state partnership within labour migration, increasing the degree of legalization of labour migrants in CIS countries are expected to be considered during the forthcoming event.

Within the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation is also expected to take part in the 19th Sitting of the Consultative Council for Labour, Migration and the Population Social Protection of CIS Member States is expected to be held in Moscow on December 12-13.

Heads of the Ministers on Labour, Migration and Population Social Protection of CIS countries will discuss perspectives of the development of co-operation in this field. Delegations from Belarus, Kyrgyzia, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine and Armenia are expected to participate in the sitting along with the Azerbaijani delegation. In addition to representatives of the States, representatives of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member-States, the International Statistics Committee and the Universal Trade Union Confederation which have observer status are expected to participate in the event as well.

The agenda of the sitting includes 16 issues on different directions of the social and labour sphere, including the Draft Convention in the Legal Status of Labour Migrants and Members of Their Families, Draft Action Plant on Expanding Cooperation between CIS Member-States in Solving More Serious Urgent Social Problems, Draft Programme on Establishing and Improving the Normative Base on Labour for CIS Countries for 2004-2008, etc.
