EU Commission Prepares for Submission of Requirement Specification for Project on Assistance to Azerbaijan’s Professional and Technical Colleges and Vocational Schools

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. I. Khalilova/ Rufat Mammadov, the Executive Director of the Coordination Bureau for EU Technical Programmes (TACIS) Azerbaijan, has said that the Azerbaijani Government is expecting a requirements specification for a project on rendering assistance to professional and technical colleges and vocational schools from the EU Commission within the TACIS National Action Plan for Financial 2006. It has been prepared by the Coordination Bureau under the assistance of Nikolay Petrov, a consultant representing the EU Commission. One pilot region will be selected for the project's initial implementation, where special professional and technical colleges and vocational schools will be chosen. The budget of the existing project is €3.5mln. Several hundred of thousand of Euros will be spent on purchasing necessary equipment (PCs, installation of telecommunication, etc.). The project is expected to be simultaneously implemented with another regional project, where the Azerbaijani Regions of Aran and Shaki have been selected as pilot areas.
