R.Agayev / The Conference on Labour Migration in Russia and CIS: Trends, Problems and Ways of cooperation organized by Delovaya Russia (Business Russia) social organization with the assistance of Russian's Foreign Ministry and Azerbaijan -Moscow International Bank was opened in Moscow on 11 May.
The discussions of trends and types of labour migration within the CIS, the problems of the CIS migrants in Russia, improvement of legal control, drawing of foreign labour migrants and a range of other issues was discussed at the conference.
A.Yakovenko, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, V.Postavnin, the deputy manager of the Russian Federal Migration Service, B.Titov, the chairman of the Business Russia, and the other members of labour and employment services participated in the conference.
Yakovenko stressed that the increase of further economic growth requires drawing of new foreign labour force into the country. Foreign labour migration policy became one of the essential factors for expansion of production in other fields of economy.
As to changes made in the legislation on regulation of foreign migration, Yakovenko called it a positive move and noted that the Russian Foreign Ministry jointly with other organizations had made the necessary steps to improve the cooperation with the embassies of other countries, first of all with the CIS countries.
According to the Ministry, the Council of Migration Managers will be established within the CIS.
"The draft agreement on essential principles of cooperation in migration and the Convention of legal status of the SIC labour migrants and their families are under current development." -Yakovenko added.
