Funds to be Allocated from State Budget to Support Preparations for Azerbaijan’s Entrance into WTO

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, Heydar Babayev , said that the financial resources are limited in attracting foreign experts in preparation for Azerbaijan's entrance into the World Trade Organization (WTO). "We have a lack of local qualified staff to bring the national legislation into conformity with the WTO requirements and therefore, it needs to involve foreign consultants. The President of Azerbaijan supports the necessity to allocate finances from the State budget for this purposes," the Minister said.

According to the Minister, these finances may be allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Cabinet of Ministers or the Reserve Fund of the President.

Presently, Azerbaijan receives technical assistance in this regard from the German Goverment , USAID. It addition, the State Secretariat for Economic Co-operation of Switzerland ( Seco ) is expected to provide assistance.
