Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Agayeva / The Government of Tatarstan Republic intends to re-establish talks with the Azerbaijani side on establishment of a plant for assembly of KAMAZ automobiles in the country, said the permanent representative of Tatarstan to Azerbaijan, Nail Zaripov, on 13 July.
On the basis of the decision of the first meeting of the bilateral Inter-Governmental Commission for Economic Cooperation in August 2006, KAMAZ JSC appealed to the Government of Azerbaijan with a proposal on establishing a plant for assembling KAMAZ automobiles in the country.
In February 2007, the Government of Azerbaijan offered KAMAZ to use the base of Az Motors Co Ltd for assembling the cars.
Referring to international practice, KAMAZ highlights the necessity of the State to support the project through providing tax and customs privileges.
The Government of Tatarstan hopes that the parties will sign a relevant agreement, Zaripov said.
