Azerbaijani State Oil Company Signs Contract on Designing New Administrative Building

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) signed an agreement with the Korean Heerim Architects & Planners Co. Ltd on designing the new SOCAR administrative building.

In compliance with the contract, the project of the building will be developed in the third quarter of 2008.

The aforesaid company was chosen in light of their conceptions meeting upgraded and favourable standards.

Construction of the new building will be commenced under the control of the Korean company and Azerbaijani specialists. SOCAR has already acquired a plot in the Heydar Aliyev Ave for construction of the new administrative building.

The total are of the building will be 59,102 square metres. More than 2,000 people will work in the building. There will be several conference-halls, dining rooms, underground and above-ground parking spaces, sport facilities, and more on the grounds. The height of the building is 149 metres. The building will have two underground storeys and thirty-five above ground.

SOCAR held negotiations on designing the new building with France, Italy, Britain, South Korea, Turkey, and Azerbaijan.
