Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 January / corr Trend S.Aliyev / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is concluding a 3D seismic survey in the Muradkhanli field, SOCAR said. The work will be carried out to obtain seismic data in the field and expand drilling work. The work is being carried out by the Geophysical and Geology Unit of the Company.
In 2007 production from the Muradkhanli, Jafarli, Naftalan, Zardabi and Terzdeller, which are part of the Muradkhanli field, comprised 30,300 tons of oil compared to 26,000 tons in 2006.
In March SOCAR intends to conclude drilling a new well in the Jafarli field with a project depth of approximately 3,970m. In the near future the drilling of another well will be set up in the field.
Under the program for increase of oil production in 2008, two new wells will be drilled in the Muradkhanli field. At present drilling of a well with the project depth of 2,800m is underway in the field.
Naftalan area, a part of the field, produces light oil. It currently produces 13 wells with a daily debit of 3-4 tons.
