Sale of Petroleum Bitumen Increases in Azerbaijan in Jan-Sept

Azerbaijan, Baku, 17 October / Trend / The State Statistics Committee officials reported that from January to September 2008, approximately 3.6mln tons of oil products were sold to the internal market of Azerbaijan, which is 8.6% more compared to the same period of 2007.

Some 670,700 tons of the total volume of oil products was petrol, which is an increase of 17.3% from the previous year. The wholesale price of one ton of А-92 gasoline in the internal market (VAT and transportation costs inclusive) is AZN 670 and А-95 is AZN 736. In January to September 2008 a total of 767,00 tons of diesel fuel was sold to the domestic market, 51.1% more than in 2007.

Azpetrol received 341,400 tons of diesel fuel of the aforementioned amount (LUKoil - 102,000 tons). The Azerbaijani State Caspian Sea Shipping Company purchased 13,000 tons of diesel fuel, as well as almost the whole amount of motor fuel.

Most of all of mazut oil was sold in the internal market. From January to September, 833,200 tons of fuel oil was sold, which is 35.8 % less than in the same period of 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of М-40 fuel oil in Azerbaijan is AZN 100 (including delivery and VAT). Azerenerji JSC received 449,100 tons of fuel oil and the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery Plant 303,300 tons for further refinery.

A total of 397,500 tons of aviation kerosene was sold, 16% more than in 2007. The price of aviation kerosene was AZN 307 per ton (including delivery and VAT).

The sale of petroleum bitumen totaled 131,100 tons, an increase of 20.2 % from 2007. The wholesale price of 1 ton of bitumen BN 60/90 (VAT and transportation costs inclusive) was AZN 160.

From January to September, 70,100 tons of butane-propane gas (LPG) was sold, 22% less compared to the mentioned period in 2007.

The other 746,100 tons of oil products were also sold, more by 70% than in 2007.
