Winner of Black Sea tender announced in Georgia

The winner of an international tender was announced in Georgia. The winner will study the project's environmental impact on the Black Sea power line. The tender commission selected the Black and Veatch Special Projects Corporation as the winner on the basis of assessment criteria provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Georgian Energy Ministry said.

Consulting services will be financed by a 300,000-euro grant allocated by the EBRD to the ministry.

The ministry established an interdepartmental tender commission to identify candidates for the tender. The commission included representatives of the Environmental and Natural Resources Protection Ministry, Finance Ministry and State Electricity and Enterprises Management Agency.

The tender commission selected 6 companies - Royal Haskoning, Environ UK, Fichtner Gmbh, Louis Berger SAS and Geographic, Black and Veatch Special Projects Corporation and Mott MacDonald.
