The Chinese CITIC Group agreed to build a bitumen plant in Aktau, Kazakh Energy and Natural Resources Minister Sauat Minbayev told reporters.
"The CITIC Group agreed to take part in the project during the Samruk-Kazin Fund delegation's visit to China," Minbayev said.
The implementation of the project began in Mangistau in early 2009. The project is valued at $145 million. The plant will have a capacity of 420,000 tons per year. Oil from Karazhanbas will be used as crude.
