The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported over 1 million tons of oil via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to roughly 568,000 tons in the same period of 2008, SOCAR said.
The pipeline exported over 224,000 tons of oil in May.
In 2009, SOCAR intends to increase the export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline up to 2.5 million tons compared to roughly 1.3 million in 2008.
The pipeline exported around 1.2 million tons of oil in 2007 which is the same with the figure in 2006. The Baku-Novorossiysk exported 1.6 million tons in 2005.
