"The pumping scheduled for August continues. It is expected to be ceased on August 28, a source said.

A source said that at present, about 9,000 tons of oil is pumped daily via north direction. About 216,000 tons of oil has been pumped via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline since early August to present compared to 240,000 tons scheduled for August.

Operation of the oil pipeline will be ceased on August 25 at 08:00 a.m. Three planned suspension were scheduled on August 12, 18 and 25 for eight hours each.

According to the forecast, the pipeline will transport 140,000 tons of oil in September, 248,000 in October, 240,000 tons in November, and 140,000 tons in December.

SOCAR ships own oil via the Novorossiysk port. According to SOCAR, in January to July over 1.5 million tons of oil was supplied via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline compared to more than 782,000 tons for the same period of 2008.

Today, via the Baku - Novorossiysk oil pipeline, Azerbaijan receives (at the port of Novorossiysk) Urals brand oil because of mixing with other oil producers.
