Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proposed to reduce oil export and consider it as a strategic product, the official website of the Iranian presidential administration reported.
"Earlier, we regarded oil as a mean to ensure the public budget. Now we have to change our views and consider the product as a strategically important one," Ahmadinejad said in the parliament while speaking about the program of the new Cabinet of Ministers.
"We should take step towards single-polar system in the oil industry and reduce the export price of oil. We should refine oil and gas, as well as develop this sector. We must ensure the country's towns and villages with gas. We will have to recognize petroleum products as the strategic crude to achieve this goal," the Iranian president added.
