Foreign minister of the Swiss Confederation Micheline Calmy-Rey arrived in Ashgabat within her tour on Central Asia.

Official Turkmen source said that bilateral cooperation, including power engineering is discussed at the meetings with Turkmen president.

"The Turkmen side is interested in realization of new projects designed to place its huge hydrocarbon potential at the service of all humanity," Berdymukhamedov said confirming Turkmenistan's adherence to diversify export routes of its energy resources to the world market.

Turkmenistan supplies Russia and Iran with natural gas. Supplies to China will be launched by late 2009. Turkmenistan's joining Nabucco project is in agenda. Europe connects diversity of energy resources with Nabucco's realization.

Over 10 projects with participation of Swiss capital are realized in Turkmenistan. These projects mainly cover services in fuel-energy complex, electrical equipment supply and trade ties.

Swiss minister also met with her colleague Turkmen foreign minister Rashid Meredov.

Micheline Calmy-Rey stressed importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality from the point of view of giving stability and peace in Central Asia.
