Companies selling fuel on the Georgian market raised their prices last weekend. The price of "Regular" petrol increased from 1.62 to 1.7 lari and "Premium" - from 1.75 to 1.8 lari.

Price hikes were also observed on higher quality petrol and diesel.

Georgian Producers and Importers Union Chairman Vano Mtvralashvili said the prices have only increased slightly. He added that fuel prices have risen recently by an average of 5-10 tetri.

"Although price growth depends on many factors, when fuel prices rise, this is painful for us," Mtvralashvili said. "But this is good for the global economy. Positive trends in the global market will ultimately have a positive impact on Georgia."
