The largest Turkmen refinery in Turkmenbashi produced 87,300 tons of polypropylene in 2009, which were designed mainly for export.
The index significantly exceeds the 2008 figure. Japan and Western countries are the primary polypropylene customers.
"The demand and production meeting world standards continues to grow," the plant reported.
Turkmenistan annually produces about 10 million tons of oil, the bulk of which is processed at refineries in Turkmenbashi and Sadie.
The country transports crude oil and refined products through Iran and Azerbaijan.
