In 2009, Azerbaijan's Sheki power plant produced more than 276.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, the JSC Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in the country) reported.
The Sheki power plant was commissioned under the state socio-economic development program and plays an important role in energy supply of the country's north-western region.
The station's five transformers with capacity of 25 megawatts were repaired.
The Sheki modular power plant consists of 10 units of the Wartsila company. Capacity of each of them amounts to 8.7 megawatts.
