The current capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline worth 1,2 million barrels a day completely satisfies SOCAR, a senior representative of the company said.
"The current capacity of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan fully satisfies us and future production from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fully embraces this power," the representative of SOCAR said.
He said that due to the fact that there have been changes in the duration of peak production at the ACG, the operator tested various capacities of the pipeline, in particular, the capacity of 1,2 million barrels per day or more. The real power of the pipeline can transport volumes worth 1.6 million barrels per day.
Even with an increase in oil output to 1.4 or 1.6 million barrels a day, the work will be carried out not by mechanical means, and through the use of chemical reagents.
