Some 10 million tons of oil was produced in the North Buzachi field in Kazakhstan, LUKOIL said.
The North Buzachi field is located in the western Kazakhstan in Mangistau region in 250 km from the Aktau regional center. It was opened in 1975, commercial production began in 1997.
LUKOIL joined the project in December 2005. Operators of the development of the field are Buzachi Operating Co., joint venture of LUKOIL Overseas ", CNPC (China) and Mittal Investments (India).
Remaining recoverable reserves of hydrocarbons in the field are estimated at 76 million tons. Fund of operational and pumping wells is about 700 units.
In 2009, production totalled 1.92 million tons of oil and 26.5 million cubic meters of gas (the share of LUKOIL - 0.48 million tons of oil and 6.6 million cubic meters of gas).
