During today's governmental meeting Prime Minister Nika Gilauri summed up his visit to Abu Dhabi. Prime Minister said that he participated in the energy conference focused on alternative energy sources.
"I met with Sheikh of Abu Dhabi during the visit. We discussed the investment projects. The UAE companies operating in Georgia, and this country is one of the largest investors. They have invested in the port of Poti, the banking sector, the tourism sector, telecommunications. I hope that Arab investments will increase, " Prime Minister said.
His optimism related to the meetings, where Arab investors have expressed their desire to invest in Georgi's hydroelectric power.
"Georgia began constructing five hydroelectric power plants in 210. Five more hydroelectric power plants will be built this year. I hope that after this visit we will have additional investors from Arab countries who have expressed a desire for the construction of hydropower stations in Georgia," Gilauri said.
Gilauri was in Abu Dhabi from January 16-20. He participated in a conference on the ways of getting energy on January 17. It was officially opened by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
