The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) exported about 242,400 tons of Azeri Light crude oil extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field through the western Baku-Supsa oil pipeline in 2010 compared to 326,200 in January 2009, SOCAR's Marketing and Economic Operations Department reported.
SOCAR exported 2,84 million tons of Azeri Light crude oil extracted from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli Field in 2010 compared to 2.79 million tons in 2009.
SOCAR exported about 407,100 tons of oil via Baku-Supsa in 2008.
The company did not transport oil in this direction in 2007 due to repairs on the pipeline, which launched in November 2006. The pipeline was filled with oil in mid-2008, but was suspended due to the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict. Oil transportation was restored in early November 2008.
BP is the operator of the pipeline.
