Uzbekistan buys drilling rig from Azerbaijan

A drilling rig of the company "Azneftmas" ("Petroleum engineering") was demonstrated at the Azerbaijani first national exhibition abroad, held in Tashkent. The rig was sold to the Uzbek company, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development said.

A drilling rig of the company "Azneftmas" ("Petroleum engineering") was demonstrated at the Azerbaijani first national exhibition abroad, held in Tashkent. The rig was sold to the Uzbek company, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development said.

The Azerbaijani first national exhibition, held in Tashkent in 2010, was organized by the Ministry of Economic Development.

A number of products of Azerbaijani companies, as well as Azneftmas, were represented.
The rig "Ruslan UP 130/170", produced at the plant, was demonstrated at the exhibition. Azneftmas representatives conducted a series of business meetings as part of the exhibition. Having no analogue within the CIS countries, the rig was sold to Uzbek oil industry workers.

The rig can drill up to 3,800 meters. Equipped with an Allison automatic transmission it is capable of repairing wells at a depth of 6,800 meters and to conduct ongoing repair work at a depth of 8,000 meters. The rig's diesel engine has a capacity of 500 hp (N = 364 kW).

"Azneftmas" has been operating in Mingechevir since 1999. It produces mainly machinery and equipment used in the exploitation of oil and gas fields.

Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are well familiarized with the products of the company. The company closely works with Turkmenneft, Turkmengaz and Turkmengeologiya. It exports the equipment worth $15-20 million to Turkmenistan.
