Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has produced 413 million tons of oil and gas condensate, the head of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan Arif Veliyev said in his speech at a scientific symposium on "Development of independent Azerbaijan in figures".
"As the oil is the major national wealth of Azerbaijan, the oil industry has been and remains the leading in the economy of the Republic," said Veliyev.
As the major achievements of Azerbaijan in the oil and gas sector, Veliyev described the launch of the blocks of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli offshore oil and gas fields, Shah Deniz gas field, construction and commissioning of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi -Erzurum gas pipeline.
"As a result, along with an oil exporter, Azerbaijan has also become a gas exporter," he said.
Thus, over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan produced 191.6 billion cubic meters of gas, Veliyev said.
Regarding the processing of crude oil in the country, Veliyev said that during the reported period, the country produced 17.8 million tons of gasoline, 44.5 million tons of diesel oil and 13.8 million tons of kerosene.
