The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and "Russneft" defined promising spheres of activity, as well as discussed existing problems in field development, SOCAR said on Friday.
The meeting was attended by SOCAR First Vice-President on Geology, Geophysics and Mining Khoshbakht Yusifzade, SOCAR Vice-President on Oil and Gas Extraction and Transportation Rahman Gurbanov, specialists of the company's relevant departments and divisions, as well as Russneft First Vice-President Sergei Bakhir, Scientific and Technical Center head Alexander Kudrin, Global Energy Azerbaijan Ltd President Igor Kirdoda.
During the meeting it was decided to prepare a long-term action program in the spheres of increasing oil and gas production, wide use of scientific and technological innovations in production, ensuring technical security and environmental protection.
Global Invest owns equity interest in operating companies Apsheron operating and Garasu operating - 75 and 85 percent respectively. The rest shares in these companies are owned by SOCAR. Both companies are engaged in onshore oil production in Azerbaijan.
