Caucasus Energy and Infrastructure completes first stage of tunnel construction for Mtkvari HPP

Caucasus Energy and Infrastructure JSC has completed the first phase of construction of the tunnel for Mtkvari hydroelectric power plant in South Georgia.
According to the company, DOSCO MK4 roadheader, which was used to conduct 463-meter preliminary work and 53-meter operating adit, has been sold to another construction company.
The tunnel will be built next year with Henenkneht roadheader (TVM). The TVM is planned to be delivered to Mtkvari HPP in December.
Capacity of Mtkvari HPP is 43 megawatts. Investment cost of the project is $65 million.
