Iran may head OPEC’s health & environment committee

Iran has submitted a plan of establishing health and environment committee in OPEC, Pananews reported quoting Managing Director of Healthcare and Treatment Organization of Oil Industry Mohammad Javad Kiyan as saying.
If the plan is accepted Iran will head the committee due to its potential in health and medical industry, he added.
"The plan was designed in accordance with OPEC regulations, Kiyan said. "The committee is aimed at establishing cooperation among OPEC members in the health sphere," he said.
Identifying the problems and improving health services to workers and their families in oil industry and strategy to reduce environmental pollution are other aspects of OPEC health committee proposal, KIyan added
Iran holds the rotating presidency of OPEC in 2011. Next ordinary meeting of the organization will be held in Vienna on Dec. 14, 2011.
