Announcing an increase of 60 mcm in gas used by Iran's households and non-major industries for the last two months, Hassan Torbati, Dispatching Manager for National Iranian Gas Company, said. The total gas volume supplied to the country will total 175 bcm.
Iran's domestic gas consumption has reached 125 bcm. About 50 bcm have been used by households and non-major industries, 35 bcm by power plants and 22 bcm by major industries.
On Dec. 17, Iran's daily gas imports from Turkey hit over 28 mcm. Meanwhile, Iran has exported 7 bcm of gas to turkey since the beginning of the Iranian year (Iran's solar year ends in March), or 10 percent more than last year. Iran has imported about 8 bcm of gas this year or 2.5 billion more than the year before.
Iran used 26 percent more gas in the Iranian month of Aban (Oct/Nov) and 18 percent more in Azar (Nov/Dec) of this year than last.
