Qatar's RasGas oil and gas company and South-Korean KOGAS company signed an agreement on liquefied gas supplies to South Korea for the term of 20 years, RasGas website reported on Friday.

From 2013 Qatar will supply South Korea with two million tons of liquefied gas per year. Gas will be shipped from the Qatar port of Ras Laffan.
The sides also agreed to supply small quantities of liquefied gas in the medium term from 2012 to 2016.

This agreement is an extension of cooperation between Qatar and South Korea in this area. Thus, two countries already have an agreement signed in 1995 and 2007 which provide for delivery of 4.9 million and 2.1 million tons of liquefied natural gas, respectively.

The new agreement will help countries to improve their capacity to supply liquefied natural gas up to nine million tones.
