WB to allocate additional funds to decrease energy loss in Tajikistan

Tajikistan and the World Bank (WB) signed two agreements on additional financing of the projects on energy loss reduction, land registration and cadastral system aimed at sustainable development of agriculture, Asia-Plus reported on Friday.

The WB allocated additional $18 million for the project of electricity loss reduction and $10 million for the sustainable development of agriculture.

The total amount of the fund allocated to the energy loss reduction project hit $36 million.

The implementation of the project aimed at the reduction of commercial losses in energy and gas sector, will start in December, 2014.

The project was restructured due to inclusion of Rohun Hydropower plant (HPP) project.
