Turkmenistan increases petroleum product production rate

The oil refining growth rate hit 101.6 percent in Turkmenistan in January-February 2014 and the production target was fulfilled by 104.8 percent, the Turkmen government said on March 7.

The production volumes of such petroleum products as petrol, with a growth rate of 103 percent meant the target was fulfilled by 113.2 percent and diesel fuel with a growth of 100.3 percent, fulfilling its target by 102.9 percent increased in the country compared to the same period of 2013, according to the report.

'The fuel oil production growth rate amounted to 103.3 percent, polypropylene - 101.5 percent, lubricants - 100.4 percent and liquefied gas - 100.2 percent', according to a statement.

This means the oil and gas condensate production plan has been fulfilled at 108.9 percent in Turkmenistan for the first two months of 2014.

Turkmenistan currently produces about 10 million tons of oil. Most of it is processed in local refineries.

Turkmenistan plans to bring the oil refining industry capacity to 15 million tons per year in 2015, to 20 million tons in 2020, to 22 million tons in 2025 and 30 million tons of oil per year in 2030.
