The construction of a plant for the industrial processing of natural gas to ammonia and urea will be completed soon in the Caspian town of Garabogaz (Turkmenistan), the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported Dec. 21.

The urea plant under construction is planned to be commissioned in June 2018.

This project is being implemented by Japan’s Mitsubishi Corporation and Turkey’s Gap Insaat.

The plant is designed to produce 1.155 million tons of urea per year.

The plant will be the biggest enterprise of this kind in the country and the contract is estimated at approximately $1.3 billion. The convenient location of the enterprise on the shore of the Caspian Sea will allow sending products to consumers, both by road and sea.
