Floating power station to be built in Turkey

Turkish company Elektrik Uretim Anonim Sirketi (EUAS) has appealed to the Turkish Environment and Urban Planning Ministry for permission to build a floating power plant, the company said in a message on March 16.

The company said that in case the ministry grants a permit, it will build a power plant that will generate 360 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

The company noted that the power generated by EUAS will be distributed by the Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS).

The project is designed for 20 years, according to the company.

However, the company did not disclose the project cost.

The minimum daily electricity consumption in Turkey is 702.4 million kilowatt-hours, according to TEIAS.
