The rise in the cost of diesel fuel in Kazakhstan was due to an increase in the processing costs, Executive Director of KAZENERGY Association Rustem Kabzhanov said, the Kazakh media reported Aug. 9.
He noted that after the modernization of refineries in Kazakhstan, the processing costs increased by 15 percent. In addition, he believes the price of diesel fuel was affected by the introduced excise tax.
The diesel fuel that was sold at 176-178 tenge, now costs 180-183 tenge.
Prices are high especially at small filling stations.
