Iran's share in Iraqi electricity market is at about 10 percent, said Alireza Kolahi, Iranian member of the board of directors of the International Cablemakers Federation (ICF), Trend reports.

Kolahi said that Iraq's electricity market is worth $115 billion, adding that Iran should increase its share minimum by 30 percent by 2030, by adjusting.

According to Kolahi, Iraqi Minister of Energy said during his visit to Iran that $115 billion were spent on electricity after the Saddam regime, with only 15,000 megawatts of electricity produced.

"However, in the past years, Iran has managed to save a few percent of this amount and build good-quality facilities for the country," he said.

Kolahi said that Iran currently ranks 17th globally in electricity production.

"Even now, the countries of the region prefer to get their electricity equipment not from global giants like Siemens and western countries, but from Iran," he said.

Kolahi said that Iran is also exporting technical and engineering services in the electricity industry.

According to him, in addition to sending Iranian electricity engineers to target countries, cables, turbines and transformers are also exported to them.
