This year Uzbekistan will increase gas exports up to 15 billion cubic meters, which by 15 percent more compared to last year, Trend reports citing Sputnik Uzbekistan.
“This year we have contracted 15 billion cubic meters of gas for export,” the chairman of the board of Uzbekneftegaz Bahodir Sidikov said.
He stated that last year, the volume of exports of Uzbek gas amounted to about 13 billion cubic meters.
Sidikov noted that in the export structure, gas supplies to China amount to about 10 billion cubic meters, to Russia - four billion, and the remaining volumes fall to the neighboring Central Asian countries.
"With the availability of resources, we discuss with our partners the opportunity to increase supplies," the head of the company said.
According to official data, the total oil production in Uzbekistan in 2018 compared with 2017 decreased by 8.2 percent to 746,400 tons, and natural gas increased by 6.1 percent to 59,842 billion cubic meters.
