Baku, Azerbaijan, July 19

By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

The deadline for submission of applications for participation in the public procurement for selection of a leading insurer for "Gas interconnector Greece-Bulgaria" project is extended with one week - until 31 July 2019 due to expressed interest and requests for extension of the deadline received by potential candidates, Trend reports citing ICGB, the project company.

Тhe extension of the deadline will not affect the construction schedule as the main risks will be covered by the EPC contractor, according to the company.

The decision for extending the deadline is expected to be published within the statutory terms, promptly after that it will be available in the Buyer's profile, under the file of the procedure.

The groundbreaking ceremony for IGB was held May 22 in Bulgaria.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
