Bulgaria announces public procurement for new gas pipeline construction

Bulgartransgaz EAD of Bulgaria has launched a procedure for Procurement, construction and commissioning of construction site: Gas transmission pipeline to Svishtov, Trend reports citing the company.

“This procurement procedure is aimed at expansion of the gas transmission network of Bulgaria by construction of a new gas transmission pipeline to the town of Svishtov. The construction of the new gas transmission pipeline will create conditions and prerequisites for gas supply to industrial consumers and public-administrative consumers in the region, as well as for domestic gas supply to the municipalities of Svishtov, Belene and others,” said the company.

Bulgartransgaz EAD is a beneficiary under Grant 057 provided by Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund for project "Construction of gas transmission pipelines with automatic gas regulation stations to Svishtov, Panagiurishte, Pirdop and Bansko-Razlog”. The implementation of project Gas Transmission Pipeline to Svishtov is part of this Contract.

By Decision No 312 of 10.05.2018 of the Council of Ministers, "Gas transmission pipeline to Svishtov" has been declared a national site within the meaning of § 1 of the Additional Provisions of the State Property Act and a site of national importance within the meaning of §5, item 62 of the Additional Provisions of the Spatial Development Act.

The tender procedure will be carried out in accordance with the rules and policies of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the terms and conditions of FIDIC, EBRD Harmonized Edition 2010 under the License Agreement between EBRD and FIDIC will apply as General Contract Conditions (GCC).
