Arta Energy Petrochemical Plant under construction in Iran

The Arta Energy Petrochemical Plant is being constructed in Namin county of Iran’s north-western Ardabil province and the work is completed by 64.97 percent, Vahid Hamzazadeh, executive director of the plant, said.

The territory of the plant covers eight hectares. After the commissioning, the enterprise will produce 132,000 tons of methanol grid AA and 283,000 tons of formaldehyde annually, Trend reports referring to Shana news agency.

Hamzazadeh said the plant will need 160 million cubic meters of natural gas a year.

He added that the investments in the amount of 2.95 trillion rials (about $70.2 million) and 112 million euros were made in the project.

Most of the necessary equipment has been purchased, he said.

Hamzazadeh added that the project was launched in 2017 and 1,500 people have been involved in the construction of the plant.

Some 750 people will be employed after the commissioning of the plant, he said.
