Uzbekistan plans to increase US exports to $1.5 B

Uzbekistan plans to increase exports of products to the United States to $1.5 billion, was stated at a meeting of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov with the US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross in Washington, Trend reports citing the press service of Uzbekistan’s Ministry.

The parties discussed the current state of the mutual trade and the prospects for building it up.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side voiced a proposal to intensify mutual trade by increasing the export of Uzbekistan to the United States by 60 items of commodity totaling $1.5 billion.

The ministry noted that the proposal was positively received and accepted for study by the American side.

The Uzbek delegation also handed over a list of export-oriented products to American colleagues. It indicates the volume of planned exports.

The American side promised to carefully study the demand of its market for the proposed products. If the analysis is positive, Uzbek producers will be assisted in entering the US market.

At the meeting, issues related to the US’s support of the process of Uzbekistan’s entry into the WTO were discussed as well.
