BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16

By Tamilla Mammadova - Trend:

The total volume of aviation oil imports to Georgia amounted to 1,000 tons in April 2020, which is 5,000 tons, or 83.3 percent, less than in March this year, Trend reports referring to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.

Meanwhile, this indicator is 8,200 tons or 89.1 percent less compared to April 2019.

According to the union, in April 2020, 100 percent (1,000 tons) of aviation oil were imported from Turkmenistan to Georgia.

From January through April 2020, the import of aviation oil to Georgian amounted to 19,500 tons, which is 11,400 tons or 36.9 percent less than the same period last year (30,900 tons).

Of this volume, 14,700 tons (75.4 percent) of imports are accounted for Turkmenistan, 2,600 tons (13.3 percent) for Turkey, 2,200 tons (11.3 percent) for Romania, and 30 tons (0.1 percent) for Egypt.

“The reduction in aviation oil imports is directly related to the restrictions imposed due to the spread of COVID-19,” the union said.
