South Korean Sejin G&E to bring gas-based power production to Uzbekistan

Leadership of South Korean Sejin G&E Co. Ltd company held negotiations via videoconference with representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, Ministry of Energy, State Committee on Ecology and Environment, and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan JSC, Trend reports with reference to Dunyo News Agency.

The parties discussed issues related to accelerating the implementation of the project on electricity production based on gases from household waste landfills in Tashkent region.

South Korean partners expressed readiness to accelerate the process of preparation and translation of project documentation into English for the Uzbek side.

The representatives of the company noted that the company's employees in Tashkent are carrying out purposeful work in close coordination with the State Committee for Ecology and Natural Resources of Uzbekistan.

Negotiations will also be launched with the Ministry of Energy and National Electric Grids of Uzbekistan on the draft agreement on purchase of generated electricity.

As part of the online event, the parties agreed on further plans to promote the joint project, as well as reached an agreement to organize the next negotiations via videoconferencing in the second half of June 2020.
