Electricity consumption decreases in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20

The electricity consumption in Iran decreased to 51,181 megawatts yesterday (June 19), Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran’s official website.

This figure shows that 3,714 megawatts were consumed less than the previous day (June 18) and 700 megawatts less than the same day last Iranian year, according to the report.

“On the same day last year (June 19, 2019), electricity consumption in Iran was 51,881 megawatts,” the report said.

The total electricity generation potential in Iran is more than 82,000 megawatts.

Iran also cooperates with neighboring countries in the field of electricity. In addition, Iran exports more than 1,000 megawatts of electricity to Iraq daily.
