Electricity production increases in Kazakhstan year-on-year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug.12

Volume of oil extraction in Kazakhstan amounted to 51.5 million tons during first seven months of 2020, which is 1.4 percent less than during the same period of 2019, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Industrial manufacturing in the country increased by 1.3 percent compared to the same period of 2019.

Thus, manufacturing of copper ore amounted to 59 million tons, which is 16.5 percent less compared to the reporting months of 2019. Manufacturing of petrol amounted to 1.8 million tons (increase by 11.8 percent).

Manufacturing of Portland cement was 5.9 million tons, which is 2.6 percent more than during the same period of 2019, and of flat metal - 1.4 million tons (increase by 10 percent). Production of gasoil stood at 2.6 million tons (decrease by 8 percent), and of electricity - at 61.7 billion kWh (increase by 1.4 percent).

“The production of natural gas and metal ores increased compared to January-July 2019. The production of food items, tobacco products, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy and mechanical engineering increased. At the same time, the production of petroleum products decreased,” the committee said.
