Iran’s South Pars Gas Company reveals its production data

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 12

By Elnur Baghishov – Trend:

The 11th gas refinery of Iran’s South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) currently produces more than 35 million cubic meters of gas per day, Director of 11th Refinery Mohammad Saeedian said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

Saeedian noted that gas production is planned to reach daily 50 million cubic meters in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, to March 21, 2021).

The director added that in this regard, 38 wells will be drilled in the 13th phase of the South Pars gas field, which supplies fuel to this refinery. Thus, daily 2 billion cubic feet of gas (about 56.6 million cubic meters) will be supplied to the 11th refinery.

“At the same time, the 11th refinery produces more than 40,000 barrels of gas condensate per day,” he said.

The 11th refinery of Iran's South Pars Gas Company can produce 50 million cubic meters of sweet gas, 2,750 tons of ethane, 2,000 tons of propane, 1,200 tons of butane, 400 tons of sulfur, and 80,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.

The South Pars gas field is a joint gas field of Iran and Qatar. The proven reserves of the South Pars Gas Field are estimated at 51 trillion cubic meters of gas, of which 36 trillion are extractable. Iran has so far spent $33 billion on projects of the South Pars gas field. Around 75 percent of Iran's gas is supplied by this field.

Iran extracted 570 million cubic meters of gas per day from this field in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).
