The planned targets set by joint venture Uzbek-Sweden-UK Kukdumalok-Gas LLC for 9M2020 were exceeded by 5.7 percent and production of 578.5 million cubic meters of natural gas was achieved, Trend reports citing Uzbekneftegaz.

The gas released to the surface during oil production was completely burned without any efficient use until 2005, which led to air pollution with harmful emissions. One of the urgent problems was the prevention of the negative impact of pollutant emissions on the environment, as well as the rational use of flared associated petroleum gas.

An investment project on utilization of associated gas produced from the Kukdumalok field was developed in order to eliminate this problem, and for rational use of flared associated petroleum gas

The bulk of oil and gas condensate was produced from the Kukdumalok field, which was discovered in 1985 in the Kashkadarya region, and therefore the project was implemented at this field.

The project was included in the investment program of Uzbekistan, approved by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan. In September 2005, a joint venture Uzbek-Sweden-UK Kukdumalok-Gaz LLC was established.

During 2005-2011, the joint venture for the processing of associated and low-pressure gases at the Kukdumalok field built and commissioned the first, second, third stages of the compressor station, and was used by the specialists of the joint venture until 2013.

Since 2011, the joint venture has developed a project for Utilization of Low-Pressure Gas from the South Kemachi, Kruk, West Kruk, Umid and North Urtabulak fields.

In April 2017, as a result of the project, the South Kemachi compressor station was launched. The station's annual capacity is designed to process 858 million cubic meters of low-pressure gas.

An additional service for processing 2.12 million cubic meters of medium pressure gas per day is provided based on the agreement concluded between Uzbekneftegaz JSC and Kukdumalok-Gas LLC in October 2019.

Currently, qualified specialists of the joint venture have carried out large-scale work to prepare technological units for the autumn-winter season of 2020/2021.
