Azerbaijan’s oil export down in 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 8

By Fidan Babayeva - Trend:

Some 28.4 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were exported from Azerbaijan in 2020, Trend reports with reference to the report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy on the results of 2020.

The volume of oil export (together with condensate) decreased by almost 2.9 million tons, that is, by 9.2 percent compared to 2019.

Some 34.5 million tons of crude oil were produced in Azerbaijan in 2020. There was a decrease in oil production in the country in 2020.

The decline in oil production was mainly connected with voluntary restrictions imposed as a result of the OPEC + agreement.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan SOCAR carried out about 56,000 meters of drilling operations in 2020. The company, independently or as a main participant, produced 7.4 million tons of oil from the fields which are being used.

The daily oil production (together with condensate) reached 688,800 barrels in Azerbaijan in December 2020.

Some 587,000 barrels of this volume accounted for crude oil, 101,800 barrels - for condensate.

In accordance with the "Declaration of Cooperation", given daily crude oil production in October 2018 in the volume of 718,000 barrels, Azerbaijan had to keep crude oil production in the volume of 587,000 barrels from August through December 2020, reducing its production by 131,000 barrels per day.
