Iran will start transporting crude oil via the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline in the current month (March 21 through April 20, 2021), Executive Director of Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) Touraj Dehghani said, Trend reports citing the National Iranian Oil Company’s website.

According to Dehghani, currently, the process of installing pumping station No. 2 on this oil pipeline is in the final stage.

Dehghani added that welding work on the Goureh-Jask crude oil pipeline has been completed. All the work done was evaluated in terms of quality. Thus, the crude oil pipeline is ready for launch.

The director stressed that the crude oil to be exported from southeastern Iran will lead to the development of both crude oil exports and infrastructure areas.

The construction of the 1,000-kilometer Goureh-Jask oil pipeline project worth more than $1.8 billion has been outsourced to local manufacturers and contractors. It is planned to transport 1 million barrels of crude oil per day via the pipeline.
